This wonderful candy was originated by Walter
S. Fredenhagen, Sr. of Prince Castle Ice Cream Co. (also Cock Robin
Ice Cream Co.), in the early 1930's. It was made in Naperville, Illinois
during the holiday season as gifts for loyal customers, employees,
and city workers to express his appreciation for their dedication
and devotion.
The candy became so popular, that they started selling it to the public
through their ice cream store in Naperville.
Our Toffee is still a favorite among many people in Naperville and
other Chicago suburbs.
This tradition has been passed down through four generations. In
this new millenium, it is now
being made by Walter's great-grandson. We use the same premium ingredients
he used plus his personal secret touch. It's truly a unique taste
